Mario's story:
"I was just four when I came to live in my new home. I was very, very scared when the street team said they would help me, as men normally hurt me. I can’t remember anyone being kind to me before so I did not trust them and wanted to run away but I was so tired and hungry I didn’t have the energy to leave. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. Now I have a home and a family. I don’t have to look for somewhere to stay each night on a park bench or in a shop doorway or do something terrible like hurt someone, to join a gang. I thank God for my new life here. Sometimes I have nightmares about my old life but I feel much safer now and I go to school. I like pizza and playing football."
