Fundraiser of the Month

Every month, Toybox tells the story of a supporter who has been actively raising money to help fund our work with street children in Latin America. We are so grateful to every one of our faithful supporters and all that they do for the children. If you have a tale to tell about your fundraising efforts, let us know! This month's fundraisers are:

The Milton Keynes Half Marathon Runners

Sunday 7th March saw the Milton Keynes Half Marathon. It was a lovely sunny day, perfect for a 13 mile run. 9 brave locals donned their running shoes and Toybox T-shirts and gave it all they've got for the street children.

The team were Dexter Brown, Bulut Hatun, Gordon Gillespie, Martin Josten, Johnathon Marshall, David Mulligan, Bill Penn, James Thomson and Roland White. All the team beat their personal targets and a good time was had by all.

Daniel Barbary was also due to run, but unfortunately couldn’t due to injury. However he was there in support!

Gordon Gillespie said “It’s great to be doing something to help out Toybox and the children of Latin America. It has been really good training with the team. Our group was known as the Pre-church Chuggers, because we went out for our training runs before church on a Sunday morning.”

The team are well on the way to raising £1,000 each for Toybox, which will make for a fantastic £10,000 for the street children - Well done guys! If you would like to sponsor the team, you can do so here

Without the amazing effort and passion of people like Dexter, Bulut, Gordon, Martin, Johnathon, David, Bill, James and Roland, we wouldn't be able to provide hope and support for children out in Latin America, thank you.

Other brilliant fundraisers who have been doing great things recently are:

Katy and Dov Whittle - Katy and Dov got married in September, and instead of being given gifts to celebrate that wonderful event, they asked their guests to donate to the work of Toybox! Katy and Dov managed to raise a massive £1240 for the street children! Thank you and congratulations Mr & Mrs Whittle!

Martin Josten - Martin has recently celebrated his 60th Birthday and decided to ask his birthday guests to make donations to Toybox rather than buying him personal gifts. As part of his birthday celebrations, Martin raised a brilliant £353 for the street children - Thank you very much Martin!

Mrs Billie Goodway-Ward - Billie has been very creative in the last few months and has designed a calendar using her own paintings to sell in aid of Toybox and the street children. Billie has raised £215 already and the calendars are selling well! Billie also celebrated her birthday recently and very kindly raised £100 as part of her birthday gifts - thank you Billie!!

Mr & Mrs James & Kathryn McDonald - A massive thank you and congratulations to newly married James and Kathryn, who very kindly remembered the street children as part of their celebrations. They raised £305 as part of their wedding gifts - congratulations James and Kathryn and may God bless you both!

New Wine youngsters - A big thank you to all the children and young people who came and said hello at New Wine this year - your enthusiasm was really great to see, and we are very grateful for all the money you raised while you were there. From puppet shows, to magic shows, massages, hair straightening and a host of other creative ideas - you did an amazing job - thank you!
