Values and vision
Toybox Vision and Mission:
Registered in 1992, Toybox is a Christian charity committed to providing hope for the most disadvantaged children, young people and their families, principally in Latin America.
Our vision is of a world where there are no street children, where families are restored and those who are disadvantaged have choices and hope.
Our mission is to work in partnership with indigenous organisations supporting front line work with street children and their communities, being a facilitator and advocate for this work.
Our core values are:
Relationships - Working in partnership with local people, organisations, churches, children and supporters. Aiming to be real and accessible and demonstrating a spirit of genuine Christian care
Focus - On making a real difference to street children, their families and communities, concentrating on the poorest of the poor in Latin America. Meeting their material, physical, social, educational, emotional and spiritual needs
Commitment - To sustainable, effective long term solutions and achieving independence
Opportunities & hope - Offering choices, enabling children and young people to grow in body, mind and spirit receiving healing and experiencing fullness of life
Vibrancy - Dynamic, colourful, young, original, full of life, creative, energetic and fun

Our key operating principles:
• Supporting and enabling people and organisations from within a country to develop and sustain effective long term work with street children
• Supporting local partnership projects aimed at reducing the numbers of children coming onto the streets
• Working in the UK and overseas to raise awareness of the plight of street children in Latin America through telling their story
• Ensuring people and relationships are at the heart of what we are and what we do both inside and outside of the UK
• Being inclusive, working with people of all faiths and none, irrespective of origin, race, gender or status
• Encouraging local accountability, building the capability and capacity of our partners and working towards independence
• To be open and honest in all our activities, to honour commitments made, reflect our Christian ethos and underpin the work with prayer
