In Latin America, children leave home for lots of different reasons. Sometimes their parents can't look after them properly. Sometimes they are treated badly at home.
What these children need is a friend. They leave home looking for friendship and love. The sooner they find help, the better.
So Toybox decided to help set up something called the Early Encounters project. This project is in a city called Cochabamba in Bolivia. This means that children are found and helped as quickly as possible. Click here to find out how it works!
... and who are Guardian Angels? There is a city called Oruro in Bolivia where there are a lot of children who don’t have anyone to watch over them. They are children who live on the streets, sleeping in doorways or under old cardboard boxes. They are also children who live in very poor families and don’t have enough to eat.
Toybox is helping to start a new project in Oruro. It is called the Guardian Angels project. Angels are messengers from God, and sometimes they are sent to watch over and protect people on Earth.
The Guardian Angels project will give children someone to watch over them. They are not real angels, but their job is a bit like an angel’s job. We hope that many children will have people to look after them because of this project.
